A Revitalized Downtown

Downtown Lexington KentuckyMany cities discuss revitalizing their downtown areas - Lexington puts those ideas into action. Just recently, a new gathering place was created when the Courthouse Plaza was closed to vehicular traffic and the 5/3 Bank Pavilion was constructed. The 5/3 Bank Pavilion not only serves as a new permanent home for the Lexington Farmer's Market - it is also the go-to spot during the summer as Thursday Night Live ramps up its collection of live music and great food and drink. Surrounding downtown Lexington are several historic neighborhoods that provide a residential experience within close proximity to the vibrant downtown restaurant and entertainment scene. For those who want to live in the heart of downtown, several condominium projects have been completed, allowing urban living at its finest.                                                                                                                  Photo by Ken Silvestri

A description of downtown Lexington wouldn't be complete without mentioning the link to the University of Kentucky campus; just a short walk down a completely re-imagined and redesigned South Limestone puts you into the heart of Kentucky's flagship university and another great collection of restaurant, retail, and entertainment options.
