Commerce Lexington Inc.

Here in Lexington, Kentucky, we place significant emphasis on all phases of economic development. As Commerce Lexington’s Economic Development team, we work collaboratively with many strategic partners: city and state governments; workforce and minority development organizations; officials in surrounding counties; representatives from our signature equine industry; and the University of Kentucky (our area’s largest single employer) as well as being an active and remarkable resource partner for our efforts.

Our seasoned team is well-versed in assisting companies looking to locate to Lexington for the first time, nurturing start-up enterprises (working with several funding resources in the process), as well as assisting established businesses of all sizes.

We are active participants in alliances with GLI (Greater Louisville, Inc.), Northern Kentucky Tri-Ed, and Kentucky’s Cabinet for Economic Development. We are also participants with the Bluegrass Alliance, a regional economic development team which is comprised of individuals from across this region who not only understand the needs of area business, but are also willing to help make the necessary connections to solve challenges of virtually any type.

Commerce Lexington is big on entrepreneurs: in fact, we consider ourselves a petri dish for individuals bring their start-up ideas to fruition, sometimes with the financial acumen and investment of another allied group – our Bluegrass Angels.

Our marketing efforts are multi-faceted: we routinely attend trade shows; direct mail clients and consultants; advertise in select industry and other influential publications; have strategic partnerships with state agencies, and we actively market, manage, and advance the development of the Blue Grass Business Park.

Not at all coincidentally, our efforts generate tangible results. Our city’s national rankings validate what those of us who live and work here already realize: Lexington and its surrounding areas are a great place to do business, to raise a family, and most especially, to call home!
