Founded in 2002, the Lexington Venture Club is proud to be a catalyst by which entrepreneurs, service providers, and investors can work together to develop a strong economy in Lexington. Your involvement in the Lexington Venture Club helps to forge a bright future for this community, with the understanding that our success depends on our ability to connect great ideas with interested investors. Commerce Lexington, Inc., was formed in January 2004 with the merger of the Greater Lexington Chamber of Commerce, Lexington United, and the Lexington Partnership for Workforce Development. Commerce Lexington, Inc. seeks to promote economic development, job creation, and overall business growth in Lexington and its neighboring communities, while strengthening its existing businesses through the many programs and services that the organization offers. It was created to provide more continuity and enhanced focus in the areas of business, economic development, and workforce development, essentially One Team, One Vision, One Voice. On behalf of business, Commerce Lexington, Inc. also works with local government and surrounding communities to enhance business and economic development opportunities in and around the Lexington area.
The Von Allmen Center for Entrepreneurship is a unit of the Gatton College of Business and Economics at the University of Kentucky.. It also serves as the Lexington Innovation and Commercialization Center and is part of a state-wide Innovation Network. The Center seeks to foster the development of high-performance companies in the Bluegrass Region, to accelerate the commercialization of research at the University of Kentucky, and to provide experiential learning opportunities for students interested in entrepreneurship.
